PayloadCMS

The Payload CMS team continues to build and ship quickly, so I’ve created an upgrade guide to walk through all the most important (to me) improvements. Be sure to check out that video by clicking on the image below.

Payload CMS Upgrade Guide

Next.js

There have been many canary updates in Next.js leading up to 15.4, but 15.3.2 was released, which fixes some bugs and updates middleware public/static matching. Some stability fixes were introduced as well, but nothing from the 15.4 canary branch was introduced.

For Vercel, you're now able to deploy your model context protocol (MCP) server on Vercel. This helps you build integrations for AI models.

TailwindCSS

Most recently, Tailwind v4.1.6 was released which introduced an upgrade that automatically converts arbitrary values to named values when possible.

Several bug fixes were also introduced, which helps control which files get scanned by default.

Tailwind v4.1.5 was released which introduced five new properties to the transition utility class: display, visibility, content-visibility, overlay, and pointer-events.

You also now have access to h-lh, min-h-lh, max-h-lh, which gives you a utility to match an element's line height.

Tailwind v4.1.0 was released at the beginning of April with a lot of new options added. Some key variants to highlight are:

wrap-break-word, -anywhere, and -normal, which is used to control how words are wrapped or broken between lines.

text-shadow-* and mask-* were introduced to give you more control over these properties.

You can also now set shadow opacity by using shadow-*/{opacity}.

Cloudflare

  • It’s now easy to create first-party tags in partnership with Google. This allows you to serve your Google tags using server-side tagging without hosting and maintaining a separate server. This should help with site speeds and blocking scripts from Google. SEOs rejoice.

  • New MCP servers are available.

Other

  • Databricks has bought NeonDB. It’s early, so it’s hard to tell what that means for pricing and functionality, but if anyone should by Neon, it needed to be Databricks.
